Mr. Beery's Band Battle to End
Cystic Fibrosis has raised thousands of dollars to benefit
the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Over the years it has
grown into one Long Island's largest music festivals.
The area's top-talent bands have come out, year after
year to support Steve in this noble and outrageously
fun event. It's the biggest event of the year at Mr
Beerys and this year was no exception.
The event started at 12 noon
and went on until about 1am in the morning, actually
it went later than that...... Beery was running hourly
drink specials and prizes were galore. The barbecue
out back was serving hot food to order. Raffle tickets
were available all day, lucky cutomers were getting
prizes such as a brand new Fender guitar and Amp package
and Lite beer outside fireplace set ups, pool inflatables
and so much other cool stuff. The Beery shot girls were
sexy and unloading jello shots of so many flavors I
lost count myself ( lemon, cherry, lime, mango, wild
berry etc.). Mr. Beerys Band Battle to End Cystic Fibrosis
was again a rousing success. Thousands of dollars were
raised, dozens of kegs were drank, plenty of burgers,
dogs and grilled cheeses were eaten Over 20 happy sponsors
contributed as well the 25 bands playing thier hearts
out for the sixteenth straight year. Commemorative t-shirts
are still available at the bar, so it's not too late
to get in the CF style. The official band list is below
as well as a first set of preliminary pictures of the
event. More info is to come soon so come back and visit
this page again.........
A Message from Steve
Beery Himself.
Just wanna say thank you to all
the people who for the past 16 years have given their
time and never get thanked: the bands, the volunteers,
the staff, the family, the friends, the booze guys,
the beer guys, the pool guys, the sales guys, the kids,
the chihuahas (you had to be there), the donors, the
bikers, the fire department, the sheriff's department,
the cops, the press, the radio, the clergy, the wife,
the so many very unsung participants that have gone
unrecognized by me for so long. Oddly, most of the people
in my orbit still work their little heinys off in spite
of my neglect. That's not to say that I'm not grateful.
I am humbled by the caring and support we have received
without ever properly acknowledging all of the folks
who do so much. I alone am responsible for this negligence
and hope that I never have to find myself in a position
where I can't have the great vibe and the karma that
surrounds this event because of it. Most of you know
me personally and in my defense know that since I have
the attention span of a gnat I have already moved on
to St. Patrick's Day the second that we clean up the
mess from CF. Anyway, the bottom line is that a whole
lot of wonderful gals and guys contributed lots of time,
sweat, talent, and money to make me look cool for doing
nothing. I take off one of my many hats to all of you.
